Jinya Su won IEEE-IES Student Paper Travel Award.

Mr Jinya Su, a PhD student in Control and Reliability Group (LUCAS) of AAE department, won IEEE-IES Student Paper Travel Award (worth of $2,000) for the incoming conference “17th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology”, March 14-17, 2016 Taipei, Taiwan (ICIT 2016) He was invited to deliver a 15-miniutes’ oral presentation to the audiences, at the same time, he was also invited to present his project in 3 minute speeches with hardware demonstrator or movie. The diplomas for the Award will be presented during the conference.

Jinya’s paper entitled “Fault Diagnosis for Vehicle Lateral Dynamics with Robust Threshold”, proposes a novel solution to the challenging issue of model based fault diagnosis, i.e., the robust threshold selection problem in the presence of system uncertainties and disturbances. This work was supported by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Autonomous and Intelligent Systems programme under the grant number EP/J011525/1 with BAE Systems as the leading industrial partner.

The IEEE ICIT conference, established in 1994, is one of the flagship yearly conferences of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, devoted to the dissemination of new ideas, research and works in progress within the fields of intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, 3D printing, etc. This year 6 IES-SPTAs are allocated for the IEEE ICIT conference, where “preferences are given to the students with the best qualified papers according with the review of each conference”, along with 2 pages’ personal CV.
