LUCAS researcher Owen McAree has been shortlisted for the first Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Innovation Award.
He has been selected as one of the final three candidates and has been invited to present his work at the annual RAeS conference in September. Owen made a submission and entered the competition with his project on Terminal Region Operations of Unmanned Aerial Systems, sponsored by EPSRC and BAE Systems.
The competition is open to all young researches who make creative contributions in the development or support of operating UAS. His work and the work of the two others will be judged at the conference and the winner will be selected by a panel.
Congratulations to Owen, and here's hoping that his paper takes first prize.
